I was wondering if someone could give me an idea of how hard it would be?

I'm interested in learning both and feel that doing them at uni would be my best opportunity. Currently I'm trying to teach myself a bit of Chinese because I hear knowing some Chinese beforehand helps when learning Japanese.

EDIT: Eh, I didn't mean to give this thread the thumbs down icon... Oops >.>;

the chinese would help you in kanji stuff later while doing your jap stuff since some of the symbols would represent the same stuff. Then again since your learning chinese from scratch it'll be a while before it'll be handy for your jap course. Though the combination of jap and chinese seems to go well, seeing as there are so many of them chinese in my intro to jap course lol.

How hard it would be? From my friends experience and mine, it depends on how serious you want to learn the language. Its not hard, just takes dedication since theres quite alot of stuff to remember and you dont get much exposure to it everyday since your in a english place.

How much dedication would I need to get good grades? Like an hour on each every day or more?
