I'm planning to go to Macq. Uni next year, so, just wondering, how Macq. Uni is, like lifestyle, people, activities etc. Are there lot of events/parties?

Hi there. I'm only new to Mac Uni so I may not be the best judge but I'm planning to do a kinda guide to the first few weeks of uni for mac students on the forum - keep your eyes peeled!

Lifestyle... Well one of the best things about Mac Uni is the train station so in terms of travel lifestyle it really is a huge + (there is also ample (I find, at least) parking spots). If you like food (like me) then Mac Uni has an amazing array of food form mexican, thai, turkish, etc.. In terms of chilling there are plenty of places to sie and have coffee both in and outside. You can also shop or see a movie at the shopping centre if you have a massive gap between lectures (I have a HUGE 5 hour gap...). The whole campus has a relaxed feel about it with no real sense of "you must get HD's" type thing...

People... Every single person I've met has been heaps friendly so far. When you sit next to somebody in a lecture whom you don't know they'll say hi and shake hands etc. You form friendships or study groups pretty quickly.

Activities... Ubar hosts (although I haven't been to one yet) amazing themed nights. Mac Uni is considered the 'party uni'. There are heaps of societies to join which do their own thang'.
There are movie nights down by the lake (casino royale, die hard) and there are events in the court yard like random people singing and booths which sell these indie things.

Also, just wondering, are there like many Indian and Chinese people, not that I hate them or anything, but is that true?

If you're studying law, social life is not a phrase that I associate with you.

Will is pretty much on the money, however I'm not so sure I agree about the parking spot thing. I personally don't think there's enough parking and it's often annoying to find a spot (not impossible, just annoying to have to keep circling around - especially in the earlier part of the day)

LOL you must have good luck with parking, Will.
I always hear that it is the worst in terms of over issuing parking permits. Like, issuing 20 permits for every spot or something silly.

For those who can't find parking, you're doing it wrong, there's an entire field behind X5B that has spaces well into 11-12
