hey guys. im looking for really relevant quotes in LSGOB for retreat from the global...anyone one have some particularly good ones?

In my person opinion, a lot of LSGOB is more about themes rather than direct quotes (a la Shipping News). When I did my RFTG HSC essay, I found myself paraphrasing most of the quotes, saying what particular characters did and/or how it was presented.

Which stories are you doing?

im doing all the stories, we have to write a creative writing piece with close reference to the text...not real easy with this one...i think ill have to resort to shipping news and heaney

All the stories? Eeek. I only had to study 2 in detail for the HSC. (I did LSGOB and Heaney, I *hated* Shipping News)

Close references doesn't have to mean quotes, does it? Look at themes. Metafiction, intertextuality, dream sequences....
