Question from Cambridge: If P(x,y) is any point on the line y = 4x + 3, show that hthe midpoint M of OP has coordinates (1/2 x, 1/2 (4x+3). Hence find the locus of M.

Help? What do they mean locus of M and how do i do it. I found out the first section.

THanks

ok
the point should be P(x1,y1)

M is then, (1/2 x1, 1/2 (4x1+3)

x=1/2 (x1)
y=1/2(4x1+3)

x1=2x
locus of m
y=1/2(8x+3)
