experience matters more

My interpretation of the statement "it's the journey not the arrival that matters" is that the journey is more important than where you end up at the end. It is the process of learning, experience and just living life which is important. Not whether you succeed or lose, even if you never find the holy grail or don't attain the UAI you want (sure you may be devasted and think I went through all that for NOTHING....but that's not the point). It is the LEARNING, the EXPERIENCE which matters. It enlightens us, we gain wisdom through our experiences which helps us to understand our humanity even in defeat...

I know it's corny... I don't even buy it myself but nonetheless it's an answer.
