Hey,
Leni's contributions to german culture. What are they and to what extent would we need to discuss the debate of whether she was a
propagandist or artist?
Thanks guys
Don't overkill on the highlighted - answer the question. Students tend to have prepared answers and attempt to address the issue of whether or not she was propagandist or artist and they kill their time on things they shouldn't be doing.
Contributions:
-cinematically all the movies and their techniques e.g. berlin olympics and the films on the nuremberg rallies and how these films brought about international acclaim for german culture pre- WWII
-she stretched the limits of german culture by fusing both conservative (e.g. power of the human body etc etc) and modern ideals in her dancing and as a film actress post-dancing(in saying that just be very brief abt this cause it's not very important and this is from memory)
-when hitler was in power she held a position of power in the group which dealt with culture, it was part of some department lol and all the cultural bigshots were in it (can't exactly remember the name).
