does anyone else find that the focus questions aren't that straight forward

there is usually a twist, which makes it hard to know the exact dot points we have to include...

does any1 have any tips for this problem...my options are family and world order...im scared i'm gng 2 get a question that all twisted and confusing..and not know what i have to include :S
i have tried gng through the syllabus but im still confused when it comes to the question
please help..

theyre generally all on effectiveness. at least 1 of the questions wil be broad and just telling u analyse the effectiveness of the legal and non legal mechanisms or sometihng.
so just learn whats been done and how effective thats been and u should be sweet. they dont really ask specific dot points for focus studies

I find it helps to first think of legal [especially world order] in broad terms and then just memorise some of the names and cases or years.
Then if you just logically think about the question [which the girl above me is right - there always seems to be a general effectiveness one!], you can just mix and match everything you think applies to it.

yep yep don't fret i'm doing family and world order too and there is usually a general question and a more specific one. i think the lucky ones are those that for some reason know more about the later on that particular day. and everybody else does the other one!!

it is not generally i mean in every past paper and trial i have seen optionals are always effectiveness uetions so doesnt matter they piss easy so much to talk about

As the worlds greatest legal eagle - take my advice.

memorise a mainframe essay, and just adapt it to the question

I've had a thousand essays marked by hsc markers, it doesn't come down to whether you have 'hit the nail on the head' it comes down to your quality of evidence and amount of it.

Just ensure you put in a line answering the question each paragraph.. like:

bla bla bla .. thus it can be said that this statute is effective in protecting both the rights of the individual and society.

i do family and global environment.
with family from looking at past papers +trials the focus questions are pretty generic and non specific although in some cases they may say include a brief discussion on say alternative family arrangements eg.

im going pretty good in legal and i find preparing for exams, revise over effectiveness, in which law reform fits into, and break it up into points of discussion instead of memorising a whole essay..then its less overwhelming, which legal studies seems at first.

for effectiveness break it up into
equality, accesibility, enforceability, resource effic, protec and recog. of individual rights(individual), then same for society

find at least two points for each one
back up your discussion with legislation, cases all that jazz and youll go awesome which you will

so basically we should always talk about the effectiveness of the law??
is there like a state your issue, refer back to law (process/set of steps)...sort a thing for legal like there is 4 english?? (to remember evrythn u must include?)

for these questions, what do i need to mention:

evaluate the effectiveness of law reform in acheiving justice for family members, and include a description of how the law responds to different family arrangements.

so i know i have 2 tlk bout effectivness of law in acheiving jusitce for individuals (society aswell??) and family arrangements, what else?

also this question:
in relation to the family, eveluate the place of law in resolving conflict and encouraging cooperation

evaluate is positives and negatives right?

and ..
this question: evaluate the ways in which the legal system protects family members?

when they ask for legal issues AND remedies affecting family members, do i have to talk about EVERYTHING under the syl heading 'legal issues and remedies', cze would'nt that take ages, if not wat do i do...
