Will the world end on Wednesday?
Better billions of dollars wasted than billions of lives wasted.

Everybody's talking about the disadvantages of "opening" a black hole.

What about the advantages?

1) Safe Nuclear Waste disposal
2) Garbage problems eradicated
3) France will be destroyed first. :(:)
etc

Post LHC findings predictions

1) No Dark matter
2) Boson particle not found
3) Lots of unanswered questions
4) Lots of money wasted, and lulz had

"Anyone who thinks the LHC will destroy the world is a t---," he said.
?

Otherwise I hope there would be no dimensional breach where headcrabs, vortiguants and other creatures from the planet Xen would enter our homeworld and try to take over Earth.

i am starting to fear the possible results of this experiments. How powerful will the black hole be? Will it have enough force to destroy the earth?

yes, but theres only ~1/80 chance that will happen
even with this very small 1/80 chance that it will happen, if a micro black hole is created it will decay due to stephen hawking, according to current calculations

A physics professor working on the program said the energy involved was about the same as a mosquito landing on you. Just putting that out there
That was the guy on Lateline, correct?

The actual experiment starts in a month or so. Theyve only turned it on today, and sent protons in one direction from what iv read. No hazards in that.

In a month though, thats another story

yeh lol the day afta the english modules paper is when the actual expt. is done, so if the worlds end we will have suffered 2 english papers!!!

lol jks, world AINT gna end, and anyone who tells u something along those lines is, in all porbability, not a physicist, and has not even studied physics. They probs dont even know what quarks, leptons, etc. are and just know a fancy words such as 'higgs boson', or 'God particle' without knowing their meaning, implication, or reasoning behind.

The Conspiracies were wrong they recreated the big bang but did any body find out if they found new subatomic particles that would change the standard model?
