Hey guys I want to upgrade the hard drive on my laptop. Firstly I'm looking at a Fujitsu 4200RPM Hard Drive 160GB SATA Internal 2.5, is that rpm too slow? I have no idea....

And would I be able to install it myself without screwing up the laptop? thanx

Laptop hard drives are usually 4200rpm. Most laptop hard drives are user replaceable, but you should check your laptop manual to see whether the hard drive can be taken out without taking apart the whole thing.

It's pretty slow, in regards to the options you have. I personally wouldn't go under 5400rpm - infact I prefer 7200rpm drives. But keep in mind, my mentality is speed over capacity.

go 5400 minimum
but as Collin mentioned, it's what you want
speed or capacity.

5400

From what I heard the 7200 drives dont really offer that much more performance for the money you pay for them

Just get a smaller internal one and store any data you won't need while out and about on an external at home.

in my opinion just get a usb external. Not those huge ones. They are fairly small and easily pack in 160gb. If you're prepared to pay a little more, some of the brands like prosche make extremely small and sleek drives.
