Bloody hell A |, sif post Sydney High's 2004 stats. Worst year ever. Use 2003 or 2005 if possible as an example. 04ers were shit.
Bloody hell Bookie, for the sake of your excessive school pride, here's 2003 as you claim to be the better year, even though the number of band 6 results in some subjects were lower in 2003 than in 2004. Happy Now?

- 363 student results with marks of 90% or higher in a subject
- One student in 1st place in Engineering Studies
- 26 students scored 90% in 10 or more units
- Percentage of Distinguished Achievers in main subjects (i.e. the percentage of the whole grade in the school who took that subject and scored band 6 or band E4):

100% of students got band 6 in Latin Cont and Ext. That's either really impressive or an indication of really small classes in those subjects. Not to play the cynic, but I'm guessing it's the latter...

Kinda true. does 10 people a class make it small? but asides from that, the number of Ancient Greek students is 2. and I'll bet $100 it'll be 100% band 6 with those guys. they're ridiculously good.

LOL if one student did that subject and he got a band 6, that counts as 100%.

Ahaha that's rather optimistic for the ranking with Mx1/Mx2- unless you guys already have a cash-prize winning student?

How many High ppl made the HSC Honour Roll this year?

You're lucky I have the paper with me

I'll post their names as this is public information anyway

All Rounders - Nick Bull, Xingyu Cai, Anthony Chau, Haesang Chung, Damitha Fonseka, James Kang, Shaheen Kumar, Raj Kumar, Gabriel McManus, Ben Nham, Viraj Patel, Jason Phung, Omar Salem (who has posted in this thread), Manusha Samaraweera, Anik Sarkar, Mitchell Seow (who I'm sad to say passed away, so rest in peace to him and condolences to his family), Victor Sirinopakul, Mischa Steen, Atif Syed, Mitch Taylor, Phillip Tian, Phillip Tripp, Jim Tsao, Tom Wei, Paul Wong, Ron Yu and Zhong Zhang.

Looking through subject toppers list in the state (dont know exact position);

Business Studies - Tom Wei
Chemistry - Jim Tsao
English Extension 1 - Omar Salem (well done man)
Geography - Kaivan Vaidya (2006er, you may know him as v1rtU4L, or something gay like that :D)
Mathematics - Vinh Pham (2006er, and the one who will top mx1, mx2), Kaivan Vaidya (2006er), Aaron Chan (2006er, on these forums as 'icycloud88', i think, i hope i destroyed his identity)
Mathematics Extension 1 - Alan Dam, Xingyu Cai
Mathemarics Extension 2 - Xingyu Cai

Not as high as expected, but the overall effort was excellent and well done to all the boys indeed.

I guess you don't know the ranks but it's still good that you had so many ppl- and you had 2006ers! Sigh our school doesn't let us accelerate anything except economics- unless you came from a school which you were already accelerated in.

Conclusion:
-James Ruse's Success has attracted the best primary school-leavers, with many more on the waiting list, ensuring that it still stays at the top. People are willing to travel. It appears to be the number 1 choice for parents living in the area wanting their kids to be at a selective school.
-James Ruse takes in, at the start of year 11, students from selective schools.
-Competition is fierce, ensuring that everyone aims to be at the top.
-The majority are smart and will assist each other.
-Acceleration of subjects ensure that less subjects are taken in the final year.
-High-scaling subjects are chosen.
-Active participation in olympiads and competitions ensure practice which makes perfection.
-They are money-wise (our school invests too much into upgrading computers and beautifying the grounds.)
-Possibly, there's a link between agriculture and intelligence. Don't ask how.
