i had this discussion over lunch. Mick mundine can sit there and call for all the investigations he wants but where is he on the issue of why were like 6 teenagers driving around drunk in a stolen car (on top of people) at 4am.

then those same parents have the audacity (well i doubt they have even considered this argument) to blame the police for this incident, on national news lol. she cant even begin to understand how or why this is literally her fault.

i was serious though
the video seems to have changed now but that kathy fisher or whoever, is aunty of one of the lads. i thought she said she was his mother (she said one of my bosy was in that car) so i was commenting on how easily she could completely absolve herself of any liability
not her fault her teenager was driving around drunk on top of peoples torsos in a stolen car
turns out she is just an aunty but my argument stands

and it wasnt caused by the children (in reality they are basically small children who dont know nun better)

Okay, can't be bothered reading everyones post but this is my view:

I have no idea why the media are making out that the police were in the wrong for shooting those 2 teenagers. They were in a car, driving on the footpath with a women under the car and there was the possibility of injuring or even killing more people on that footpath. Yes, the police probably shouldn't have laid into one of the boys after, but c'mon, the shooting was necessary to save innocent lives.

People are saying "why didn't they shoot the tires" or "why didn't they use tasers". The thing is, when a police draws their gun it isn't to shoot their tires, it is practically to kill, and if not that then to just stop the perpetrator and look, it did stop them. Also, what does shooting the tire do? The car can still move, the car can still kill innocent pedestrians. To whoever suggested a taser should have been used, how the hell are they going to shoot someone with a taser when they are in a CAR.

Then people are complaining about how young they were, well I doubt the police had any idea that they were as young as they were. It was 4am, in Kings Cross and they were driving, in that moment it is too hard to judge how old one is. I also don't think age should be a concern when it comes to saving more lives anyway.

It has been blown way out of proportion because they are Aboriginal and you watch, they will get off very, very easily despite what they did.

Yeah it's not like the incarceration rate of Aboriginals in this country is enormous

Western Australia has a higher rate of incarceration for Aboriginals than South Africa during the height of Apartheid (or at least some point did)
