It kind of depends on your school - at our school we did our depth study in groups, but we had to write our reports individually. It might not hurt to have study groups to corroborate on depth studies - but do whatever suits you best. In either case, please familiarise yourself with proper scientific skills and vocabulary for preliminary preparation.
