Doesn't JUAI score lower than SAM?

I'm thinking JUAI is more accurate, I'm a cyncial pessimist by nature.

i got a 0.55 difference, with JUAI being lower. I would think that JUAI is less accurate, and it is not always lower. I think that SAM is more accurate based on what i've heard from past HSCers who've entered their marks into the calculator.

And to answer your question, JUAI is another UAI calculator (downloadable), which was provided before the new SAM was released.

Neither JUAI nor SAM attempt to predict UAIs.

There is no data in either program pertaining to the 2005 HSC.

It is up to you to decide whether UAIs from past years are indicative of your 2005 UAI.

therese in quandry - question for lazarus re SAM 2004

thanks heaps Lazarus for all your work and past helpful advice. I used SAM 2004 this morning only to get more confused. After entering my HSC marks, the Results Profile showed my scaled marks out of 50. Now past 'Scaling of Courses' indicated that English Ext 1 & 2, Maths, Maths Ext 1, Modern History and Physics would ALL be scaled UP. SAM 2004 shows this happening only for Maths Ext 1. Why? Also, my disappointment at getting only 80 in English Advanced was further dampened by a scaled mark of 31.8/50 - a scale drop of 8.2 marks, nothing like 2001,2002 & 2003. Why again? Can you offer some help - and soon?

therese again

If Lazarus is not available could Ragerunner or anyone help me find out why SAM 2004 scaled DOWN nearly all my HSC marks?
