Could peoples please tell me what an analysis of text about journey should have in it? I have a crappy teacher and this is what she has given the class but I have a feeling there is more to it that I do not know about.

1. Identify and categorise the text type
2. Identify the Journey
3. Suggest the aspect for the Journey and the out comes of the Journey
4. How is the Journey represented and how are the aspects represented
5. What are the effects of the text
6. What is the tone of the text

This kinda repeats it's self. I'm advanced English... there has to be more than this.

Help us out. Ta.

Those 6 are good starting points, I'd also add how the journey has impacted on the traveller, as many techniques that you can find in the text that help to portray the journey, the effect of these techniques, themes that are explored in the journey.

perhaps also include the catalyst of the journey, i.e. what set it off.. thats what my teacher told me, shes crap too though... and perhaps if ur anaylsing it, how composers have communicated the idea relevant to the concept of "journeys"... i dunno aye, you pretty much got it sorted

Add these: context (background information), audience, language techniques/features and the process (include challenge/obstacles) of the journey.

Don't forget that if it is a visual text you have to analyse (deconstruct) all the visual techniques and imagery relating to journeys- vectors, layout, colour, text comparatively to picture etc... and mention the value of the texts and how this is represented
