i wont be doing medical physics but i know a little from chem that might help


isotopes of the same element have the number of protns in common haha

and the main difference between isotopes of the same element is that they have different half lives hehe

really basic and obvious but i just wanted to have a go

Isotopes of a particular elements have the same number of protons in their nuclei but different numbers of neutrons and hence different atomic masses. Isotopes may also differ in their stability - some may be very stable, and others may decompose into other elements through radioactive decay.
