oh, and plus, i'm sure the little disputes aborigines had with sticks and stones would really have been nothing in comparison to the destruction the british would have caused with rifles and that

Then if they were 'nomadic', how could their lands be stolen? Because a nomad has no fixed location for living.
LOL their lands weren't stolen...just land that they used was taken...

Aborigines didn't own land as such, the land owned them, they belonged to the land...The Dreaming -> Terra Nullius -> Mabo -> Terra Nullius Abolished -> Native Title -> Wik dude...

no citation needed...it's all blatantly obvious/fact.

Aborigines were nomadic, they don't all live together... thus there was no true "large scale violence" at least not as large scale as when the british came.
"Nomad" is a misnomer. Aborigines were hunter/gatherers, and successful hunter/gatherers move around in a single territory - a large one, yes, but a distinct territory, used in rotation. Hunter/gatherers need to know the land intimately to be successful, which means territories that need to be defended.

Please tell us why you regard Locke's argument for terra nullius as 'primitive'.

We'd all be delighted to know.

It's not fact, because it is literally impossible that the British introduced suffering into the Aboriginal world as has been implied. They suffered already. We just don't know any details about it.

Fucking lol.

Well, I suppose you could say that they belong to alcohol/petrol/petty crimes now.

disputes/crimes would be solved quickly by a group of leaders between tribes, and sanctions including physical ones such as spearing were used...

---
look terra nullius was abolished thus meaning its an unfeasible idea before courts...

You know this because you were there, right?

Aborigine culture is very analagous to native American culture (actually they're functionally the same). They had tribal warfare over land, and so did the Aborigines.

OMG YOU ARE SO DIM

the british were applying THEIR system of justice and ownership to the aborigines, totally disregarding the fact that teh aborigines' concept of these matters was totally different.

just because they didn't have permanent structures and moved around does not mean that the land was any less theirs. as previously said, they weren't technically nomads

Yes, and 230 years later the Aboriginals seem to be still unable to understand that rape is wrong, stealing is wrong, don't abuse or let your children be abused and it's best not to consume four cartons of beer in a single day.

But that's our fault (by our I mean the evil oppressor known as WHITE MAN), cause the British stole der lands.

Wow racist...

and i don't know what would happen if they were left alone NOW (because of their alcohol/drug/petrol abuse catalysed by the british arrival)

But if they were left alone 251 years ago, they would have been fine, living their life, without western world influence.

WTH

no we are not implying that they faced no troiubles before the british... they obviously had some minor mishaps every now and then... but when they were invaded, it all escalated into one hellish nightmare that the aborigines are still facing now AND pricks like yourself are denying that they exist through no fault of their own.

fyi it all only finally stopped VERY recently in the '70s or something.

and the british did NOT only steal their lands, they oppressed and abused and exploited them to such a level it, will take a very very very long time before things are ironed out again and their society returns to a near normal state.

No way, they're all going to that 3 000 kJ per day diet and a(n) (assured) death before the age of 30.
