Basically are y'all aware of the 100 integrals? Is there something like that for proofs?

MAK03 already made one based on 2020 trial papers. It is on the resources section at https://community.boredofstudies.org/resources/compilation-of-trial-extension-2-proofs-qs.19959/

A similar one was recently made by MANSW which included some from the 2021 trials as well.

The MANSW one is attached.

Perhaps when enough papers from 2022 come out this thread can be updated with those too. I don't think it's up to 100 yet but it might be soon depending on how many papers we get from 2022.

Note the selection may be criticised and modified - although some of the criticism can be levelled at the syllabus itself. It could be said that the “Proofs” topic should be renamed “Logic”.

So one may say that a question like “Write the contrapositive of the following statement …. “ should be excluded because that is not technicaly a “proof”.

The defence to include it (albeit a weak one) is that this type of question should be included because that is part of the syllabus for the “Proofs” topic.

Another criticism for what should be included, but wasn’t, are questions like “Show the following integral is equal to ….”. Now this is clearly part of the Calculus topic, and there is a lot of overlap in the Proofs topic with other topics. One could argue that it should be included because it is actually a proof.

However the defence to exclude it is that when one has covered the other topics, one would already have done that question - or at least questions like it.

Whatever your position on these matters happens to be, at least we now have enough resources to swap questions in and out as you please to make a list of 100 questions.

How to make it go to 200?

Most commercial papers don't allow their papers to be shared for copyright reasons. However the Western Mathematics are an exception. They have their papers up at http://www.westmaths.com.au/home/ from 2018-2022 (the 2023 not there yet)

Whilst some students have access to some of the other commercial papers, it is not really fair to include these in the list in this thread until and unless they agree to make them publicly available for all students.

Nevetheless, as the Western Mathematics are publicly available I think we can add theirs to the list starting from the 2020 paper.

So here is my list of proof questions from Western Mathematics:

2020: Q2, Q6, 13c, 13d, 14d, 16b
2021: Q4, 13a, 14b, 15a
2022: Q4, 12c, 15c

Now it is 200!

But don't stop there
