It's only good to get course codes from, other than that it's useless. I used mine as a good rest to write on when there was no solid surface.

The course codes are just numbers that each university course is given so that UAC can recognise them individually. It's just like getting given a number in a marathon or something similar. The book's good to use if you have absolutely no idea what you want to do, or if you want to try and find a more specific program/degree; other than that, it's a waste of paper because you can get more than enough information on individual degrees from that particular university's website.

You'll get a copy for free. Just ask for one or demand one.

I personally found it helpful, when researching degrees. If you're not sure what you want to study, or where you want to study at, then it'll be very helpful to you. I recommend getting a copy. Although you're school will give you a copy further into the year, when the newest edition comes out (i think in august).

Agreed. I used to spend ages flicking through mine comparing courses etc.. Although you don't exclusively need the book to do that, I still found it convenient.

Why are you going to buy the book when all HSC students get one for free...?

If you want to look at the course codes, just borrow one from a friend for a while. You don't really need it.

I got two of those (cos I asked for one during yr11). It's somewhat helpful, but not neccesary.
Just search it online

Go demand the school order more, it's like $19.95 from newsagencies.
You get it for free because you're a student, haha.

Put a balaclava on and smash your way into the office and start screaming at the staff to order more, then leave peacefully and return the next day showing your face, smiling and acting extremely nice asking if they've gotten more in yet.
