It annoys me when I overthink a question in Harder 3u and then get the wrong answer cos the proof wasnt right or as per standard so I stick to procedures that I have learnt properly.

when i did this question i was unaware it was a theorem but instead explain that it is parallel because the midpoints will be vertically half way between the ends of the intercepts...

That is a legit theorem (I remember learning it in 2 unit maths).
If you have the Year 12 Pender book, you can find that theorem in there as well (page 332, of my copy at least).
