Get into whatever you need to, to do whatever you want to do. Why does it matter whether it's for dumb people or not? Everyone percieves everything differently so these arguments are purely based on how you were brought up, what you were taught and ultimately, your opinion.

Ye but Tafe is a 2yr course and its cheaper to do. As for a uni degree in engo, there is not much difference at all between salaries (especially governmnet jobs), i know from having a civil eng in the family.

i attend Tafe and i see quite a few people who don't realy care much for their work... you get a lot of public school students who just go there because it sounds fun and because the government pays almost everything... but thats my view

I know plenty of intelligent people who attend TAFE.

Being able to have a conversation about "postmodernism" and all that other crap doesn't mean you're intelligent. Just means you have so much time to waste researching something that is of no value to anyone outside university.
