If so, that would means we are competing against smarter people . . soo lets say people who get like 85 uai last year . . will be getting like 80 this year ? At my school, this years student is like the best for the pass years. So i am just wondering if the same is happening to the others . . . so that means i am to study even harder, yeah ? . . .

UAI's have consistently gone up, not down with public pressure to push everyone towards higher UAI's.

Definitely not smarter in any way, half of the shit 08ers post is beyond retarded.

I'm quite positive that 08 as a year from personal experience seems to be quite legitimately retarded. I say Nay!

Naturally your bound to get differences in year groups at schools.

Whilst your school may have a smarter than average year there are probably other schools making up for this at the other end of the scale.

The last year at my school was the best the school has ever had wth 8 people over 95.

this year isn't lookinng as good.

I reckon that my grade is gonna boost my school's ranking by about 10 places. We're like the smartest mother fuckers to ever sit the HSC I think.

I thought it was said 07 or was it 06 was the smartest cohort so UAIs weren't as expected for many people.

at my school last year's students were way smarter than us. once you get out of the top 10 (well, for the subjects i do, minus english), the marks go really low. so don't worry, the people at my school will make up for yours by being on the other end of the scale.

The percentage of students recieving 99+ UAI in 2004 was 1.6% and have increased and stayed steady around 1.7%

95+ UAI have increased from 8.1 in 2004 to 8.4

Median UAI
2004: 66.85
2005: 66.90
2006: 67.75
2007: 68.05

Same trends seen across the other UAI ranges, and i would say it would continue into 2008.

As the very politically correct thing to say is that UAI = smartness, and our UAI is expected to increase, we therefore smartah dan last yearz bro

but then uai is a rank, so we are back to square one.

Oh yeah, then it comes down to the 2006 Year 10ers then, more specifically the dropkicks who left. More of them intellectual inequivalents (again very politically correct) = higher UAIs for us. :)

2007 and 2006 were some of the smartest cohorts at my school.

I think this year we have some kids that are gonna ace this thing. . . and then we have everyone else. We're supposed to be the grade that crashes and burns . . . hooray.

This year is meant to be my schools 'biggest downfall'. Thats a great confidence booster going into exams isnt it? =]

Although the 06 year was meant to be shit too and they came 10th in the state.

Overall, for the whole state its hard to tell. I'll just accept whatever happens
