I heard something about Digital watches not allowed in exam rooms. I borrowed a watch off my cousin that is analogue but has a tiny screen in the middle with a stopwatch which I use, especially for essay writing. It makes a tiny bip noise when i start it. Would it be allowed or will i get kicked from the exam room.

Really? I've never heard of this. I dont think it'll be a problem, it's just a watch :D

I have a feeling they won't let you because it will disrupt other people. But that might depend on the supervisors or your school or whatever.
I would definitely ask a staff member before the english exam.

I don't make the rules. I've just been told at my school that watches that will/may beep are a no-go. Multiple times.

It'd sure as hell piss me off if I was in there next to you and it went off every 40 minutes.

Probably depends on the examiners/supervisors.

You must not:
(a) take a mobile phone or programmable watch into the examination room;

and

You must remove your watch and place it in clear view on the examination desk.

yeah thats what i was gonna say. they dont care if its digital or analog as long as it sits on your desk in plain view for the duration of the exam.

I'm curious as to how supervisors can differentiate between programmable watches and digital watches o_O

Also, I heard that MP3's aren't allowed...?

I have a little calculator watch.. its looks suspiciously programmable but its not, and they let me in with it for trials. I just had to put it on my desk and it was fine.

HSC supervisor, "OUT VILE JELLY!" **pokes out eyes**
lol! AAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGH DEATH TO LEAR!!!!
*notes that quote down for potential use in exam*

yeah i have a watch that i use at the beginning of the exam i just start the timer because it's easier to calculate my time like that ie. 80 mins gone= two essays should be done etc

and i was worrying about the exact same thing, but in the trials and half yearlies i used it and it went beep and an examiner looked at me but that was about, only one tiny beep at when the dude says "you may begin" and all the papers are rustling anyway...

My watch is analog yet has a little digital screen. I used it in the HSC and just started the timer at the start of the exam, nothing was said.

But then again depends how strict your supervisors are.

Shit... I had my MP3 in my pocket for every single trial exam... O.O;

Thanks for notifying me of this o.o
yeah sometimes i have stuff in my pocket that i dont realise i`ve brought in.

one time i was in maths and i felt something in one of my pockets and i looked down and saw all my written palm cards with formulas all over them stuck halfway out of my pocket - literally.

i freaked out , cos if they caught me .. then yeah lol xD - this was during my trial.
