i was hoping to get 99+ for commerce law in either unsw or usyd:

here are my half yearly ranks :

Eng Adv: 70 out of 170
Chemistry: 30 out of 77
Math: 6 out of 130
Math 3u: 35 out of 60
Japanese Cont. : 2 out of 13
Japanese Ext: 2 out of 8

My school is rankd in top 60 i think, and i only have trials left which are in average 25% to 30 % weighting. I heard rank is REALLY important :(

If i SMASH my HSC and Trials, would that still not be enough for 99+ ? cos of my current rankings? :(

It's not impossible. But it will be extremely difficult (extremely as in 1/10000 chance or less).

even if you rape everything from now on (harder than it sounds) i don't see you getting more than 97?

No, you won't be getting 99+.

Sorry, just be prepared to do Commerce- law at another uni besides UNSW or USYD.

I thought that stuff counted from Yr 12 onwards? Isn't this person a '09 student? Or am I seeing things? *confused*

He could have just forgot to change his HSC to 08 or he could be trolling...

But whatever the reason, with those ranks and his schools' rank he won't be getting 99+ and even getting 95+ would be a reach for him at this stage.

hmmm,,,

then considering that after my trials, my rank has improved as below?

Eng Adv: 30sh out of 170
Chemistry: 10sh out of 77
Math: 2 out of 130
Math 3u: 15 out of 60
Japanese Cont. : 1 out of 13
Japanese Ext: 2 out of 8

With above ranks, is it still unlikely for a 99+? :(

[under assumption that i ace HSC]

With those ranks and aceing externals, I don't see a 99. Around 97 at most. And that is with getting mid-high 90s for everthing in your externals.

P.S You plan to jump 20 ranks for chem and 30 ranks for english with trials? The ranks must be very tight otherwise I don't see that happening. Even if you completely smash it.
