Btw, anyone know about internships in property development firms?

Big firms like Mirvac, Stocklands, Jones Lang LeSalle ect don't seem to offer anything.

good luck with that.. property is getting raped by the market right now.

Though at AMP capital i beleive they have a listed property internship

Following banks AFAIK have made interview calls for investment banking (IBD) - if you havent been contacted then probably didn't make it:
- Macquarie
- UBS
- JPMorgan
- Citi
- ANZ
- Credit Suisse
- Merrill Lynch
- Goldman Sachs sent out psychometric invites
- Deutsche Bank sent out psychometric invites

Morgan Stanley I believe may have made calls, not confirmed.

AFAIK stands for as far as I know

Ralph: I believe CS Final Round invitations are complete, although potentially may be some more calls tonight/monday morning, unlikely though.

mitsui, I read before that you're applying for operations. Those banks listed above are for investment banking (i.e. actual IBD, not other divisions of the bank). I don't know about other divisions.

seems like its so hard to get into IB. Wat sort of WAM do I need? Do USYDers and UNSWers have an advantage into getting in more easily than other unis?

jannny: not sure if its the market at the moment or if its normally this tough, but interviews have been pretty scarce it seems. USYD/UNSW has a huge advantage over UWS/UTS/Macq I'm afraid to say. WAM wise you'd want at least a D average, preferably around 80 or higher (for BCom).

3li: It's for IBD (as in corporate finance, not asset management, research etc.), not sure about other divisions. My guess is other divisions would be slower but no evidence either way on them.

By the way I'm from ANU and I've had 4 responses for Investment Banking Internships in Sydney.

Has anyone done the tests that Deutsche and ANZ IB sent out? If so what type of tests did they give you?

So you're telling me that, cause I applied just before the closing date, I have no chance any more with CS and other IB's that have "already finalised interviews"?

well WAM doesn't look like to be the end all of it.
My WAM is 88.4, which is pretty good (somewhere between 5-20 (closer to 5) / 2500 (in my year bracket) in ASB, UNSW) and no interviews ='(.

As for math skills, avg above 90.
Finance, avg above 90.
Experience, i've worked at IBM, MSD, ASB .. and woolies and coles (haha but i'll keep them on the low down)

no rejection though, but they probably drag that on for ages to make sure they don't need you before they reject.

I didn't put Macq capital as first preference though, which is a shame.

88?!:jaw:

ok....

my wam is around 79/80 for both com & law, with law higher than finance.
...

damns. I realy should push it up now.
