Who here has been for a job interview, and not got the job? I had that experience in the past week, and my confidence is really shot at the moment.

I have.....ummm twice one for sanity and the other for a leagues club
it sucks cos the sanity one rejected you in front of the rest of the ppl at the interview and the leagues one gave you an impersonal letter. Keep going for them and you will eventually get a job

Thanks for the support guys. It was just a crappy part time job at a coffee shop - I'm a 3rd year uni student. That's what's making me feel worse though, I'm like "om my god, i cant even get a job at dash coffee, what hope do I have of finding a job in the real world?"

I went to the interview last week, and at the end the guy said "ok, we have your contact details, we'll speak to you soon". Today I got an email from the store owner saying "thank u for applying, all positions have been filled."

I guess it could be worse...that's horrible what they did to you at sanity!

i guess being a 3rd yr student can be a disadvantage in this case

given that you are working in a coffee shop, if they hire someone who is in 3rd yr of uni, and will look for a proper (full- time) job within a yr, with the possiblity of leaving then, then they are reluctant to give you the job...i guess next time you get an interview for similiar jobs, you try to hint you will want to hold that job even if you get a full time job

I've only vere had three job interviews in my life (I can't believe so few)
1st one got the job with Target - wish I never did
2nd one for a law firm didnt because they thought I could work fulltime
3rd for supre got rejected as well, i knew I was a gonner when she asked what we were studying and all the rest claimed to be arts students wanting to be fashion designers

Now I dont even get interviews

At least they gave you a voucher.

I've only been rejected twice and that was by phone/E-mail.

Keep trying, there are better places though. Just try applying everywhere..

I have been rejected following 7 (I think) interviews out of 7 interviews that I have done. I advise to anyone that knowing how to talk to other people is probably a fairly valuable sort of ability.

every interview ive been for ive gotten..

except for this little mini fone interview for an assistant to a financial planner.

they woke me up by ringing my mobile at like 11am (shut up! i sleep in late, ok!) and they started asking me all these questions, it was horrible. they asked about my uai (only 72.35 ) and wat i wanted to do when i was older (management) and they said sorry this is for people wanting to become financial planners.

arggh, and now ive decided i want to go into financial stuff... fuck it fuck it fuck it

but yeah, i went for a job at big w, best and less and reading cinemas around the same time about 2yrs ago, got all 3, took 2 and told big w no. burger king, got that from 1000's of applicants (new store opening up)... but got sacked 3months later cos they had too many ppl (apparently the word is retrenched, but fired sounds cooler) and a delivery boy at amcal pharmacy, god the person who runs that is a fucking retarded grouch of a basterd pig who should be shot.

lol ive been rejected by sanity before...

basically didnt hear from them after the interview XD

apparantly it was coz i said "i luv music thats why i wanna work at sanity" ... then stragiht after i said that the lady goes "dont say u luv music coz we all love it... try something more original" .. -_-

oh well i work at a proper job which helps me with my career and pays prety fucking good so screw you sanity!!!

my friend has his own juice bar in cabra
and my other friend has his own clothing store in strathfield

PS: u do need rich parents to start u off though .. lol
