Just created a dual boot XP n linux system on my comp 2dai, i'm a linux newbie so kinda lost... tried playin aournd with the settings to set up a bigpond cable connection, but didnt work wondering if ne one can help me....

what's your hardware connection setup?

depending on how it is, it shouldn't be too much difference to your windows setup. ie - a lot can just be dhcp

What OS did you set up the connection under? Windows should connect fine with the BPCable login - not sure what login client you'd have to use with Linux.

opps 4get to say i got windows bp workin but linux i'm lost, installed Mandrake linux 10.1 with kde 3.2. linux doesnt seem to recognise my usb modem...

EDIT: also if your a linux newbie I'd recommend Ubuntu over mandrake

There's an open source alternative to the BigPond login client because that won't work in Linux. You can't just set it up like a normal ADSL connection (DHCP).
