How would u integrate


(1+sin^2x)^1/2

what substitution do u need to use??

I am assuming you mean:

(1 + sin(2x))^(1/2)

= [ sin^2 (x) + cos^2(x) - 2sin(x)cos(x)] ^1/2

= ((sin(x) - cos (x))^2)^1/2

= sin x - cos x

= sinx - cos x

which is:

= -cos x - sin x + c

This integral cannot be evaluated. It is an Elliptic Integral (of the 2nd kind, unless I am mistaken).
