I go to a catholic school and i sat a independant paper instead of a CSSA paper for the trials. Im just wondering how they would moderate the marks.

In general terms, CSSA > NEAP.

I can't really make a judgement about all the papers... but I have to say, this year's Independent Chemistry Paper was significantly harder than the CSSA... and also IPT Independent paper was harder than CSSA.
I havent' seen any other CSSA papers.. so cant really make a judgement.
But honestly, CSSA Papers aren't all they are pumped up to be...

Yep agree, check out the independant legal studies paper and compare that to the CSSA paper, id say in some subjects, this year anyways the independant papers were considerably harder.

So how would the marks be balance so it is fair if one person is to sit a CSSA paper and one is to sit an independant paper?

It doesn't need to be balanced. You got what you got. Its the rank you got in it within your cohort that counts.

For example:

What if two different schools sat all the same assessments (same weighting and everythign) but for the trials the papers were different?

Does it matter as long as everyone in the same year did the same paper?

It doesnt matter because everyone in YOUR cohort did the same one.

I agree. Independent IPT 2008 Trial was super hard, compared to CSSA.
I only got 83% for it.

cssa < independant

independant paper shits all over cssa papers, far out its freaking hardcore style those questions.

I would agree some of the cssa question are insane but overall its really simple and straight forward.

dont get me started on NEAP.. xD

I think the people who make these papers are lost in the anal.
