yup since IPR gets such frequent use the admins decided to install escalators and automated sliding doors.400miles said:Wow an IPR escalator...
Evan meant one of those teach yourself shows, where Lynn could dance around the stage. That reminds Evan is Lynn into the whole dancing thing on a competitive level?glitterfairy said:Lynn knows that Evan's comment about bellydancing was in jest, but she gently advises him never to think or say such things, as there is a huge rift between "belly dancers" like Dolphina who advertise "belly dancing" as better and cheaper than toys, and in Lynn's opinion, actual belly dancing which is part of a much greater culture and would never degrade itself to being commercialised for material value. This could go into a 3-page-long soapbox article, but Lynn is tired and thus is better able to restrain herself.

Ah! Lynn apologises and sends hugs to Evan - she saw the word "exotic" and instantly all her defensive alarms started going off. Then Evan asks if Lynn has ever met a certain Lauren McBride as she was in his class last year and competed at the State/National? level.glitterfairy said:Ah! Lynn is somewhat competitive. She does not compete in all of her dance forms, but does compete at State/National level in her areas of choice, and takes her training in general quite seriously. (which bellydancing is so good for, as it is entirely recreational!!! It's quite a shock to the system!)
Lauren is short, fair skinned and blonde with blue eyes and I think she does classical or contemporary ballet as she is qualified to teach Dance already.glitterfairy said:Hmm!
The name is certainly ringing a bell. Lynn did not compete much last year (HSC) so is a little out of it, but hmm... there are many Laurens...
Lynn asks what field Lauren competed in. If it's tap, then Lynn probably does know her, if not, then it'll probably be via recognising name on eisteddfod programme/friend of a friend of a friend of hers (which is close enough in the dance world )
Evan wished he could do either.........he'd love to do ballads or proffessional salsagoldendawn said:Marcus loves dancing, and wishes that he had the spatial co-ordination to seriously study a classical form. He is, nonetheless, very happy to stick to classical singing.
Evan has never tried the Salsa but it looks so enticing.....but he knows he'd be ridiculous on the dance floor.glitterfairy said:Without more specific information, Lynn can't really find a Lauren McBride anywhere, although Google can only do so much, and there are various levels and centres of competition Although generally, anyone who competes at state/national level works their butt off to some extent so Evan should definately be giving his friend Lauren a pat on the back next time he sees her.
Lynn warns that dancing can be over-rated. For example, Lynn's mother firmly believes that as a dancer, Lynn should be much better at parking the car. Why? "Because you're so used to judging how to use space correctly!!! Why are you so crooked?" Lynn also thinks that all dancers are completely nuts
Lynn asks if Evan has ever tried Salsa, and tells Marcus that he's really not that bad a dancer. But yes, classical singing rocks.
Evan just doesn't want to crash into any walls in the process...glitterfairy said:Evan hasn't met Lynn yet
And Lynn strongly advises Evan to try the salsa first, and working at it for several months. Dance is merely expression, which we all have, but one must master first a medium with which to convey the expression - and that can be the more tricky part. But it is well worth at least trying! If nothing else, it will be fun
Goodnight, dear heartglitterfairy said:Lynn says that crashing into walls is fun, even more so when you're doing pique turns down a very narrow hallway like the one in her house.... Also, being dropped from lifts is also highly amusing.
Lynn HAS to go to bed now though. "Goodnight all!"
