Hey guys i was wondering if u could help me with this question about implicit differentiation:
(y/x)^1/2 + (x/y)^1/2 = a

The answer to the question is:
(2((xy)^1/2)-ay)/(ax-2((xy)^1/2)) = y/x

if anyone has any idea why the a still remains can u tell me :/ be best if u could show me the full working out

Hint: rearrange the equation into the form x+y = a(xy)^1/2

Edit: I think he made a typo on the right side and means dy/dx instead of y/x

Then the answer probably has that typo. I got the left hand side as my derivative.
