hmmm strange but IMG is on

Perhaps the IMG Tag function cannot detect the actual link to be a direct link to an image file, and instead it parses it as a URL.

Well some forums have it disabled so you cannot do it.

Such as the IT Stuff.

Non School one works.

I could have told you that, Rahul. :p

See this URL:

Adding Images
To include a picture or graphic within the body of your message, you can simply surround the address of the image as shown here:

[ img]http://www.boredofstudies.org/community/images/communitylogo.gif[/ img]

Note that the http:// part of the image URL is required for the code.

You can even create a thumbnail-type hyperlink by surrounding your [img] code with a [url] code like this:

[url =http://www.boredofstudies.org/community/images/communitylogo.gif][img]http://www.boredofstudies.org/community/images/vb_bullet.gif[/img ][/ url]

This produces a link like this: [url=http://www.boredofstudies.org/community/images/communitylogo.gif][img]http://www.boredofstudies.org/community/images/vb_bullet.gif[/url]

:)

another question then, how can i show a pic i have uploaded to the forums?
i remember doing them before, but now i cant.

if you cant understand what i mean:
1. upload pic
2. copy link location of the pic
3. put it in the img tags
4. @#$@$#@!! [doesnt work]

like i said, i remember doing this before...

Your steps look fine to me.

I usually don't eat up BOS bandwidth and host my graphics on another webpage provider and link back to BOS using IMG tags.

If you wanted to however:
- Upload/attach the picture to BOS.
- Go back to your post (you'll be taken back)
- Copy the link location of your attachment
- Edit your post and insert IMG tags, linking to your attachment.

I never do it (takes too much effort hehehe, I'd rather upload them elsewhere and link back to it), but I've done it before and it works.

yep, thats exactly what i do. the link location of the image however is like the link of my avatar in my first post. it doesnt end with .jpg or .gif.
why is it different now? could it be becasue of the change in servers?

I have no idea as to how this board operates (I'm not a webpage tech).

But couldn't you host your avatar elsewhere and re-link it back, each time you want to use it? I don't know... sorry. :)

it isnt for my avatar as such...not really a big issue. just that it worked before. maybe one of the admins will come on and help clear it up. :)

edit: try uploading ya images to that "blizzard" thingo which winston pointed out on the other forum, and link it to that.

Graffiti, graffiti, graffiti! :)
www.graffiti.net

20MB storage, allows for hotlinking (loading images directly from graffiti, via IMG tags instead of clicking or copy/pasting the URL into a new browser window).
