Hey Guys,

I just found out today from a friend that Microsoft have just started a new offer for students only for Office 2007 and Office 2010 which is coming out soon.

Apparantly, if you buy Office 2007 Ultimate between 5th March and 30th September for $75 you get Office 2010 FOR FREE, as a bonus upgrade when it comes out..

holy shit! and the whole purchase process is online at Microsoft Office Discount for Students - It's Not Cheating

i just did it this morning.. finally upgraded from Office 2003! pretty good savings i reckon. all i needed as proof was my edu.au email address.. just thought everyone should know about this offer so you can get the latest software for so cheap :) WOOT!

That's a pretty good deal. How do you pay though? Need a credit card or something I'm guessing.

That's $75 more expensive than you could have acquired it for.

They are only giving you 2010 for free if you buy 2007 as 2010 is out soon and they don't want people to just wait for 2010. I.e. they done the same just before Windows 7 was released, 'buy Vista and get a free upgrade to Windows 7'.

Free or $75, I know what I would choose.

Depends on the kind of person you are :p

I agree, genuine products are definately better and more reliable..

Anyway, it's still a sweet offer for students.. people itleast should know what is out there on offer for them :)

I've been using Office 2010 for like 9 months now and it's not really that big of a change from Office 2007, I haven't noticed many new features...

if this follows the trend of Windows 7 the student discount will be cheaper then it was with the previous verison. e.g. windows vista on its not cheating was like 80bucks it is now 49.95 or something for windows 7.

Cos you're a retard who installed the windows 7 update that broke pirated copies.

GG.
I didn't install it. Its the 7600 build and you can't stop the installation. No cracks or activators work for it either.

Actually, this is a new offer where for $75 you essentially get Office Ultimate 2007 and then the new bonus offer of Office 2010 for free once it comes out.

I just got it yesterday and upgraded to Windows 7 too for $49.95.

Was pretty easy process all up, not a bad deal. I'm looking forward to using Office 2010..
