If a question asks for the force in magnitude and Direction (1 Viewer)

Well force is measured in newtons, so whatever number you get i.e. __N thats the magnitude of the force. And direction is simply what way its going/applied etc.

F and E are just variables, they can denote anything, so without the whole question we cannot know if you want to find F or E.

F is the force measured in N
E is the electric field strength measured in N c -1

But the problem is jacaranda the book has the asme question with different numbers but they find E not F, in my sheet they use F.

its best if you can post the question, but i can see what you are saying. you have a formula that says F=qE, and it says find the force and the answers evaluate E?

But there is the think, we can use E to represent force. They are just pro-numerals.
