I hate to be blunt, but Firefox is better.
I shall list why:

It is faster (seriously, IE is a slow browser)
It has plug-ins for just about everything
It has a built in spell checker
It is more secure.
IE is stealing it's ideas from the Firefox project (tabbed browsing has been around for ages)

IE sux. But i guess the old skool people use it lol. Firefox 2.0 tops all (even tho Opera is pretty good, ff sometimes gets memory leaks)

1. Firefox leaves a massive memory footprint (will approach 400mb if you leave it to it's own devices), and takes 3+ seconds to open.
2. Firefox didn't invent tabbed browsing.
