The mixed array of colours signifies the confused state that one's identity can take, reinforcing the individual's inability to come to terms with their personal identity or the factors that form their sense of self.

If you tilt your head it looks like a Jellyfish is inside a persons head.

Look at contrasting colours e.g black and white of exterior of person could signal uniformity whereas the inside colours are warmth, and could signal the conflict between creativity and individualism against uniformity.

The escaping colours shows how our true form is often masked by societal expectations. The vibrant colours as opposed to the black and white is significant of how there's more excitement in the pursuit of our truer and inner most passions than what society has burdened us.

To sum up what the above said plus some of my own:

1. The lack of form of the colours vs the smooth form of girl's shoulder/head (there's a definitely a better way to describe it) - the inner turmoil of emotions that's characteristic in the construction of one's emotional identity vs the external uniformity
2. Contrast of the colourful to the grayscale - similar reason as above
3. Contrast of the craziness (there is definitely a better word) of the colours vs simplicity of her body - the complexity within human beings in the construction of who we are and how we identity/perceive ourselves.
4. Salient point (or symbolism, not sure) of the colours escaping - the desire for individuality to surpass/overcome societal expectation/uniformity
5. Chiaroscuro
6. lack of face - maybe lack of identity
7. The significance in the heavy use of red vs any other colour
8. Something about creativity and passion within us vs the bland, structured, poised external appearance lol
9. Vector lines (if you need it)

Hey there, just my two cents here, but the main two things I would focus on are colour contrast, and texture. Obviously there's a huge contrast between the black/white/grey of the woman's body/face, and the absolute explosion of colour that is jutting out of her face. There's more techniques within this. Symbolism for instance; you could say how the contrast of colour symbolises a base, "canvas" identity through having black/white as monotonous, background colours, where the explosion of colour symbolises how identity can be explosive and abstract, ARISING from this blank canvas. Since the colours are minaly red, yellow and blue (primary colours), it denotes some sort of primordial sense of identity that is fixed and unchanging. The very fact that the colours are exploding from the woman's face rather than anything else is a metaphor for how identity is something which we often "see" - we see someone's face, when we first associate an idea of their identity (provided that we meet them before speaking to them). Even so, the idea that you can have the base and the abstract in order to make a whole idea of identity is symbolic.

With texture, I mean the physical texture of the painting itself. The colour, if you look closely, if very thick with bumps and is three - dimensional (symbolic of how identity is also multi - dimensional. It's not just what we see, it's what we can feel physically and emotionally). Texture also adds a visual element (and physical element) of interaction - we can perceive identity as something abstract, but in the painting, it has been made tangible through the texturing of the coloured paint. The vibrancy of the colour AND its texture when juxtaposed with the two dimensional monotony of the black and white woman again is a metaphor for how identity is fluid and multi - faceted.

Just some ideas - the possibilities are endless! Good luck :)

The black and white simply shows formality and what society considers normal. Meaning a loss of identity due to conformism. Whereas the colour shows the break, creativity, a sense of identity, what some would call abnormalities which can really be for the better. It shows what someone truly is under the mask and their capabilities once unhindered.
