our IRP is only worth 15% it driving me nuts!! our teacher said that it is basically the same size as a major work but its only worth 15%?? ahhhhhhh.. they put soo much pressure on us for something which only has a ridiculously small weighting comparred to what it realistically should be!

Not everyone is going to feel comfortable answering this question, because of the nature behind it. My mother had her first child at 16, I can ask her if she will be willing to answer it, yet i dont know because yes the nature behind it.

How long ago did you get it? and how much have you done?

Mine was due ages ago like last term.

Good luck!

That is really bad! over 6 months for a rush job?

I did twins and how they are compared and how it effects identity, I got 22/25 for it, but we realised to late that I should of focused on older people as younger people didnt understand my questions. but with the mark I got i was happy :)

Hey guys, i thought it would be easier if we just put all questions, comments etc. regarding our I.R.P.'s in here. First of all, could we say what our subject is and what we are up to?

I'm going to do "Are young people naive to the legal implications of sex?" and i have only done the plan, some of the diary, and a rough drafted survey.
HEY..lol we had to do ours in the first term of yr 12 last year mine was " what affect have ethnic immigrnts imposed on the innerwest sydney community", i love cafs but i do heaps better in my exams than assesments and we onli had 10 weeks i was away for 2 of them and they wouldnt let an extention soo yeah i failed that but iv passed all my tests

take carez josie

Hi, I'm doing the effects of social groups on an indivdual.
Its a topic that can be spread across all ages and I would really like some pointers as to how I should write up a plan.

what are some possible topics i could do

Find some topics that really interest you and that you have strong beliefs in. Once you have established that come up with a hypothesis that you can link back to a syllabus dot point.:)

There are a range of different aspects that you can look at. Some I just thought of may involve;

Relationships/Interactions (This could be broken down smaller into an area like boyfriend girlfriends).

Media Influences- conformity issues. ---- Preconceived notion to be thin like the models, so as to fit into social norms.

Technological Impacts- Texting would be good ( as there have been recent media articles about this that you could use).

Political Correctness- Linking back to sources of conflict/stereotypes and various groups in context. Major issues in the headlines about this.

Something to do with wellbeing and self-esteem levels and how they are affected- e.g. maybe comparison of work trends from past to present.

PS> There is a big list somewhere on this site with a whole heap of ideas. Just ask one of the moderators and I am sure they will help you find this.

I hope that I was able to provide you with some suggestions.

Also, make sure that you keep your diary updated and that you work on your IRP whenever you have a chance so that you don't end up rushing it. This is extremely important if you have to manage your time around your other Majors as well.

Good luck to all, best wishes for your IRP's! :spin:
