Soo im doing adv maths, i have an average of 89 but i have forgotten EVERYTHING. COS i usually cram super hard and my schools exams are quite easy.

BUT idk how i should go about this time

a) Do examples, then get into past papers. (lack of knowledge and wont be familiar with content)

b)Do examples couple of questions (2 or 3) learn the topics THEN do past papers (will take longer)

c) Do examples, do Nelson Net topic tests -> past papers?
*using anki aswell

BTW i have NEVER done past papers, and i strictly do textbook stuff cos i have some OCD. BUT i dont think i can get 80% again with just textbook

WHATs the MOST EFFECIENT WAY TO MAXIMISE MARKS -> i can study 3-5 hours a day for math i dont wanna faail

i have 29 days and around 15 topics to study..... 😭

Past papers.
There's nothing else l can rlly suggest. They expose you to ideas and questions that textbooks will probs never test you on.

Even if im super weak on the content? like most of the chapters i have forgotten the key concepts and how to answer a variety of questions.

i stuck to the textbook cos i could just memorise the application or put it in my flash cards.. and past papers seemed less straightforward.

HSC is around the corner ngl. Watch yt vids, read over txbk, if u have notes go over them. But honestly, yes spam past papers.
Math tests how well you can apply whatever you learnt. So spend 2 days relearning everything, then straight go to past papers.
If you come across a q you dk how to do, try htinking of whatever you learnt and try applying them to q's. Don't look at answers unless you've absolutely given up.

Textbooks are not going to save you. Trust. It might have gotten you through prelims, trials... yh l've been there too. I did the same thing for topic tests. But when my entire class got hit with CSSA trial papers, they struggled. It got to a point where l was the only one who passed (w/ a 90). Why? Past papers. Our class heavily relied on txtbks.

Textbooks aren't meant to be your 'holy grail' or 'life support' (ykwim). It's a guide for you to understand how to answer basic q's so you can move on to acc hsc level q's by looking at past papers.

Bottom line - Pls go over txtbk concepts for a day/2, then spam past papers.

do past papers with your textbook open next to you! this is how i went about starting past papers a few months ago.
when you dont know how to do the question, look at the formula on the textbook and apply it. considering the fact that past papers usually re-use questions, you'll be using the application of that formula many times and it'll stick in your head.

at this stage, don't try to do textbook questions. just have the textbook open and spam past papers straight away
