I know theres probably another thread for this but I don't care, I'm just so happy I have to tell the entire world.

I got an early round offer for BMus performance Jazz at the con.

So anyone else who wants to share their great news come post here!!

Hey hey hey... so did I!

Except I auditioned for performance & musicology and the website tells me I got into the generic BMus (perf/musicol) degree.

They'll tell me in the letter tomorrow, I guess.

On the UAC website. You click "check offers" and log in.

Yeah I got that letter as well, but because I auditioned for both classical and jazz and it didn't specify I was a little nervous.

But its all easy sailing from here.

Yay! Got into B music (performance) on violin!!

Did contact the sydney conservatorium a while ago. Apparently...
1. If you got that letter it indicates you passed the audition. But even if you didn't, I guess you would still be considered in the later rounds depending on how many people accept.
2. You only get an offer in the preliminary rounds if B music etc your 1st preference- I think this means that if you didn't already get an offer (because it wasn't your 1st preference), you got a reasonably competitive UAI, but you got that letter you'll get an offer in the main rounds. So don't despair!!

Even more brilliance! Finally got around to contacting student admin (because after a week they still hadn't specified my specialisation) and now I'm definately a Musicology student. Ftw!

Would someone be so kind as to explain... with your audition - did you have to perform the set works that they indicate on the website (i.e. for piano, majoring in Performance, you need to play about 6 pieces such as a Prelude and Fugue, an entire sonata etc etc)?

Because that would be an awful lot of things to learn PLUS your HSC set of works. Potentially 12 pieces, with music ext.

I kind of just dismissed the idea of ever getting into Performance at the Con first year out. It almost seems impossible unless youre remarkable at picking up old pieces...
