I don't like my schools optional topic. Can I choose my own? (1 Viewer)

I was just wondering, my schools doing Communication for the optional topic.
Am I allowed to just study Genetics myself and do that in the HSC?

If your school has done your Trials, then yes, you are free to choose your own.

If you haven't done your Trials, you will need to speak with your teacher and/or Head Teacher Science.

But, it's so much more difficult - you'll have to learn it yourself etc. And generally, you'll do worse.

Not too much worse. There are how many biology resources on the net? Genetics is more interesting than Communication.

imo it is risky to do so, regardless of resources you will do that option in class so you may as well do it.
