Hi guys,
At the moment I'm enrolled at USYD in a Bachelor of Commerce but am currently on leave.

I struggle with math and from what I saw from the degree so far, I think it will be an issue.

Ultimately I want to work in HR, and my question to you is would doing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in HR be a better option for me? I just think that doing such a degree would avoid doing all of the compulsory junior commerce units which I more than likely would fail anyway.

I got a 98 ATAR (and didn't study any math for my HSC)

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Cheers :)

I'd say you would probably be better off sticking with Commerce. HR has a strong business oriented focus in this day and age, so coming from a Commerce background would probably be slightly better. Having said that, a degree is really just a qualifier for HR jobs. In order to break into the sector, you really need admin experience - you have to be lucky to get straight into the industry with zero experience. When you're going for most entry level HR jobs, they tend to focus on your experience - the degree is really an afterthought so long as it is related to HR in some way.

B. Business?? they are generally more suited to the mathematically challenged. Alternatively, there really isn't any complicated maths in accounting.
