Hi,
I just wanted to ask how important or crucial the first assessments are(the first one's in term four). I have received my marks back and am going from 70-80 and 1 90. I am aiming for 86+ and hopefully a 90 ATAR if I can do really well. My ranks vary from 2-8 in my subjects and I am just quite unsure if at this stage my emphasis should be on my rank or whether my marks are a concern. I tend to be on the basis of late 70's to high 80's usually so I am confident I can significantly improve these over the rest of the year.

not crucial but still play a part, the one's to watch out for are mainly trials and HSC, but this is the final year so put in all you have and do your best.

I failed my first year 12 exams horribly but I ended up with a pretty good ATAR, thing was although I felt that it was over if you persist and then you will most likely get a really good ATAR. Don't give up yet, also it's true you can definitely improve over the year.

I got 99 ATAR and I got Band 6's all round the block.

55% for my first economics exam? I ended up with 85% for that.

70% for Legal and I ended up with 95% (topped my school)

65% for my first 3U Maths exam and I ended up with 97%... the list goes on. Trust me when I say it's possible!
