Re: Pressure From Parents

My friend was telling me that one guy that went to her tutoring college got a UAI of like 99.95 or something like that and his parents forced him to do medicine.

At his graduation after finishing the SEVEN year degree he handed his parents his degree and was like:

"Heres your medicine degree, I'm going to do engineering"

Yes he was asian.

I wonder if that is utterly stupid or utterly vengeful.

Probably best if you reassess your reaction to his demands. See if he is willing to invest in a punching bag for you, it should save the walls.

I wish pal. Maybe it is something I could negotiate with them, Aston Martin for 100, BMW for 95+ and maybe a Merc for 90+.

Re: Pressure From Parents

My parents dont pressure me.. thankfully!! however they kind of like to limit my going out-ness.. depending how much i study.. if i study all week really well, then friday & saturday night i go out.. if not.. they give me a lecture that i should balance study & going out blah blah.. and only go out like on a friday night..

However they do fall for the puppy dog eyes, so i guess it's not very effective.

Re: Pressure From Parents

Maybe we should get a car representative of the UAI we obtain. Example, if you get 95.1, then you get a car worth $95,100. Who here is rich and can get this stuff for us? :D

UAI of 30 still seems pretty good then in that context :D

Wow, the car that I want only needs 10 UAI!
I would be better off dropping my UAI aim of 100 and change it to 10 UAI!

as my mum always says, it has to be EARNED not given Michael otherwise you wont know the real importance.

Oh come on, you study your backside off for one year. You have earned yourself a 100k car. Lol. I think there will be some parents asking their sons/daughters where they got this crackpot idea about cars and UAI's from. I created the monster. Lol.

My parents kill me about the stupid HSC. They want me to get 35982374892355 when all I need is 68.4....Bloody hell.
Especially when I have assessments coming up, my mother is the biggest bitch ever. Urgh.
