How do you block certain websites n your browser? i use internet explorer .. 6 i think

As in here's the deal. If one is distracted by certain websites (e.g. blogs, fifa world cup, BoS :p) is there any way one would be able to block certain home pages (and hence the other sites which derive from the original homepage) on their browser? Using some program which is downloadable online or else inexpensive (<$20)?

Other than turning off the whole internet option. I've tried 'tools' then 'internet options' and clicking on 'restricted sites' but they just seem to slow down the page i wish to block when i access it?

Thanks !
