After the very rude careers advisor interrogated me about my subject selection for year 12 today, I began to doubt my abilities. I picked up Extension 2 but how well should I be doing in Advanced and Extension to be capable of extension 2? For advanced I've been getting low B range without putting a lot of effort and same for Extension. I got 72% for extension 1 yearly but I must admit I wasn't as prepared as I should have. Advanced I usually get high B's and sometimes A's if I try hard enough. English was my strongest subject in junior years but I feel inadequate now. The main reason for picking up extension was because I genuinely enjoy it. I dont actually have many ideas for my project but now I'm wondering if it was the right decision. Any advice would be great :)

Hi,
I'm also doing EE2 this year, and our teacher has really been encouraging it because it's so much more interesting when you get to compose something of choice compared to the structured syllabus dotpoints you get in every other subject. Also, it's much easier to drop a subject than to pick one up later in the year, so why not just try it for term 4?

fuck your teachers. EE2 is easy. tons of resources online. just get a draft completed over these summer holidays and work on it a little every weekend thereafter.

Honestly anyone doing EE1 can easily pick up EE2. I found EE2 has helped me heaps with creative writing and I have learned alot too. If you were good in your junior years I'd say that would even suffice, ADV isn't for everyone and thats why EE1 and EE2 is there to save your ass.

Lmao thanks guys that motivated me to just do it. If I feel like my idea isnt all that I'll just drop it next year. That teacher just gave me straight anxiety for no reason.

EE2 requires a different skill set from Advanced English, if you feel motivated to do it then go do it and prove the advisor wrong!
