lol at thinking first week of uni would be challenging.

Also, for your question about uni being disappointed, I've been saying that all along. :(

well for me, when i started uni last year, i was just like you....all excited and enthusiastic about uni
then came assignments after assignments, and thus lost all motivation
but if youre doing your dream course, of course youll think the classes will be interesting

A mixture of feelings I guess in accordance to my various subjects:
Chem1031- Can already tell this is going to be really god dam hard! Easily the biggest jump in difficulty compared to yr12.
Math1031- About what I expected. Hard, yet doable if I keep on top of it.
SCIF1111- Although the history and philosophy of medicine is interesting to listen to, I didn't come to uni to memorise dates and individuals in history and their contributions to modern medicine. This subject alone almost makes me wish I'd done advanced science or med science at syduni.
BABS1021- By far the easiest and most enjoyable so far, I really enjoy biology and find that this course is like a stepping stone from yr12 biology. Unlike Chemistry which is like yr12 chem on crack, speed and steriods.

My first day was Monday.
Over the period of 4 days I've learnt to sit right next to people in lectures/tutes rather than leaving seats in between, as it's (obviously) so much easier to strike up a convo. You can also do the "sorry, would you be able to move your bag so I can squeeze in. Thanks" icebreaker, which, I must say, is just genius.
My womens studies lecture was awesome, but my sociology lecture was BORING AS HELL. This was because all the lecturer did was read out the slides( as if we were somehow unable to do this ourselves). He then said the slides would be available on the net, so I really started questioning WHY I had come( I'd already read ahead and he was just reiterating what I already knew).
I guess the experience WAS good for excercising my socialisation skills though.

Also, does anyone else have a tutor who uses the word "fuck", "fucking" or other combinations of this word in every fourth sentence? Or is my media and cultural studies tutor just er "colourful" and um "unique"? :D

At least you can decipher what your tutor is saying...
