Doing 3 Sciences at Hurlstone ;
its not that bad, everyone says the workload will kill ya , but thats what year11s for , to get use to it ; anyway if u love science , then do it , at my school the assignments and assesments come like, around the same time, so theres times when we dont sleep at all for a week , and others when we`re sitting round the house for hours watchin porn non stop. if u genuinely like yor science then it'll be easy for u to cope.

heres the opinion, aftr flippin through past papers; bio's too much, if not , alot to remember, physics is hard in itself; its hard to structure yor answers into correct answers, and chem would be more easier .

Would doing all three sciences, ext.1 maths and modern history be too much? Would the workload just kill you?

The key here is time management and a genuine interest in your subjects. If you love them and you manage decently, you'll be fine. Often a lot of the time it's not the actual amount of work as how you manage it. You're in Year 10 going into Year 11, I wouldn't worry about Year 11 too much--just save up your energy for Year 12.

Are you doing 2 or 3 units of english? Because 13 and 14 units are doable, as long as you are able to manage time effectively and really like the subjects that you are doing.

im doing 2 unit english (3 units if i dont do physics). I dont think i could cope with doing all three sciences, mainly because i cant manage time that effectively and that i find some parts of physics boring, especially forces and motion.

However, im hoping to persue a career in pharmacy. Would it be better to do chemistry-biology or chemistry-physics?

Choose what you genuinely want to choose, if you're not interested in Physics then do Biology, flick through some textbooks to have a feel of the subjects. Also, it's not like they can stop you from doing pharmacy just cause you didn't do a subject, there's always bridging courses and whatnot. Ask your careers advisor if you're still unsure.

Don't do physics if you don't want to--sounds like you're not too interested in it, and anyway 13 units is a lot to manage particularly with a subject on top that you find boring. Pharmacy--chemistry is fine, biology highly recommended but they have one unit first semester first year for non-HSC bio pharmacy students to attempt, so the only different is between that unit and the "continuers" version of HSC bio in first semester. After that, level playing field. So only do bio if you're interested in it.

Hey what do you guys think of the following subjects for next year:?

English (Advanced)
Mathematics (Ext. 1)
Economics
German Beginners
Physics
Chemistry

With the added possibility that i'll drop economics for year 12

what would you need to be good at to do bio ? .. like english or maths skills ? ..
A good memory would be handy, I've heard there's alot of info that you need to digest. There's little maths/calculations compared to chemistry and physics.
