i ws tyring to practise on essay on the 2006 Q, but expericned so much diificilties:S

Yeh it says "do u agree" so i was how argue ur way out?also could we agree and disagree?

If I agreed, I'd trace the build up to self reflection

Ie, journeys locate us in new and different locations.
These allow the traveller to be seperated from the norm and can faciliate reflection as a result.

I do the tempest, so Ill examplify it using it.

In the Tempest, this is highlighted by the stage direction "the island" act 1 sc2, which located the protaganist prospero in a world that is magical and distant from reality.. etc etc.

Find challenges faced by the travellers that hinder self reflection
Ie Prospers assumption underlying his journey that he will be able to manipulate his foes with his magic and control them.. etc etc.

And then idenify moments of self reflection
Ie for Prospero, the spirit Ariel causes him to reflect upon his motives, whereunto he finally decides alliteratively "the rare act is virtue rather than in vengance"


etc etc


and yes, you could say its true for some journeys and not for others.

oh ok..

But saying true and not true, wouldnt the thesis of the essay be not sustained?

Cause ul be aruing against one thing then ur saying the other?

I had a preapred essay and when i tried to adapt to tht Q i found it so hard..

that Q was so difernt form the others?

you can argue both sides if you have some texts which agree and some which don't.

Nahh, as long as you sustain that inner journeys are unique to the travellers and therefore not always about the process of reflection, as each persons journey has a different motive, it should be fine.
