if ur thinking of telstra cable just coz of the speed... think of the quota too... unless ur a rich bum and can afford 10gb plans... dont go for it~!

adsl all the way :D

eg : my one, iinet adsl 512/128 10gb on peak, 6 gb off peak, 79.95 a month :)

i recently moved from telstra ADSL (fukn 99.95 a month) ... and i was sick of downloading something big and then having to 'conserve' during the last weeks of the month

oh and im sure ive mentioned the story of having a certain "iso" on kazaa shared... for 7 days ... not knowing i was constantly uploading it

then... kabaam im hit with the bill...
another shit thing with telstra adsl is that uploads count..

tho, i must say since getting adsl i have used around 30-40 cds in over 3 months :(

I get 50-60 kb/s on downloads, single connection (no d.a). Im on 512k.

Pings depend on how close the servers are, and how error free the connection is. You should get 30ms provided you are playing on australian (sydney) servers.

No, not nine but you would be surprised where there rest of it went: Anti Virus Software, Microsoft Office, maybe one or two games etc, it goes quite fast:).

I've got 40GB drive and got only like 3GB free total of all the 3 partitions :(. Got to cut down on my music collection, or buy a new drive :). Thankfully I've got few other computers on the network to use in the meantime, hehe :p.

yeah, home networks rule!

only crap thing is trying to finish doing uni reserach when the other people in your family are downloading songs. This is when all of you are sharing the one 56K connection.

I know what you mean, that is why I deleted everything except important word documents last time I reformatted:).

I got a new 120g two weeks ago and already have 25g's on it. A cool seagate with 8mb cache and everything.

and c: drive which is a 40g has 20g's. I had it down to 300mb and thought that i better get a new drive before it died on me. But i got a DVD burner a couple of weeks ago so i need the space for all the images and shit.

Lemme see:

Code:

/dev/hda1 53M 9.3M 41M 19% /boot
none 125M 0 124M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/hda2 34G 34G 506M 99% /mnt/win98
/dev/hda3 17G 12G 5.1G 70% /mnt/win2k
/dev/hdb1 21G 22G 318M 99% /mnt/win98storage
/dev/hdb2 8.8G 5.4G 3.5G 61% /mnt/win2kstorage
/dev/hdb4 6.3G 5.1G 874M 86% /mnt/linuxstorage
110GB, or thereabouts (supposed to be 120GB, but thanks to HD manufacturers using 'short' binary....).
