I didn't find it hard. I think it depends on the subjects that you are doing too. You see, some subjects like PDHPE and IPT,,,if you have done them in your junior years, yr 11 will be really boring because yr 11 courses just go over the topics that you have done.
Out of all the subjects that i'm currently studying, i think chemistry is the hardest one because of the new concepts.
Anyway,,,once you know what you are doing, it is very easy and enjoyable.

Well since you do the subjects that you like, you can find it easier :)
Yes,,choose the subjects that you are good at and you know that you are going to enjoy. Don't pick it because of the teacher or how many excursions/camp it has!!!! Some of my friends did thats why.
Pay attention in first few weeks as they are trial weeks for subjects. Then if you don't like it or it is not what you are hoping for then change it.:)

It's a fair gap, during year 10 you can bludge as much as you want but in year 11 you need at least to pass your subjects.

I'm in year 11 at the moment and also an accelerated student so it's hard for me to take year 11 seriously. I haven't really noticed much of a change in difficulty more of a change in structure since schools try to prepare you for the HSC e.g. in science courses, classes are more based on syllabus dot points, english classes follow similar concepts taught in the HSC etc. My advice is to not coast through year 11 but you don't have to put your all into it, just understand the concepts you're being taught, as year 12 follows on. Also especially at the end of year get into better study habits

The first term I screwed up a lot, and didn't adjust my study patterns to fit in with the assessments, and as a result, I got pretty shit marks. However, I turned it around in term 2, and will keep doing so for term 3, to keep up high marks.

So no, it's not a huge jump, you just need to be a bit more organised and more proactive with your work.

I'm guessing year 11 seems intimidating to most of us (year 10) because we've been told that it is COMPLETELY different to the 'junior' school and that it is everything is difficult. I mean at my school, the seniors really stand out, with their white shirts and different uniform and everything. I think year 11 scares me a bit.

Eh its not that great a leap from year 10, as long as you manage your time relatively well you'll be fine. I'd say maybe twice as hard.
Yes procrastination is an inherent, unavoidable side-effect of the hsc. It consumes most of our lives.

Not harder if you're not gonna do much, I mainly bludge :)

Overall, workload is more, 2-3 hour exams suck :(
Other then that pretty much the same

They certainly do. They go for epic proportions of time and you either sit there super bored for half an exam because it was far too easy or have to use every last tiny second of it (English >_>... I killed my hand having 40 minutes per essay).

They take a long time, but there's a lot do in each exam.

edit: yay... post 1200!
