The title says it all. How much time/effort/energy must be put into English Ext 1?
I'm assuming it's less than what would be required for ext 1 maths?

I don't do ext1 eng, but my friends that do, seem to be more chilled about ext 1 eng than advanced english.

Yes, it's less. You do like three texts for a whole year.

I just crammed for it, personally - other than reading my texts.

It was the subject which required the least from me...I hated it. :)

I find it very overstated often on this website how much work Extension English 1 is.

I found English Ext 1 to be far, far less work than Advanced and EE2. Other than subjects that required consistent work during the year, I really only had to do stuff at assessment times.

But of course, it depends on your natural aptitude to English and the marks you want. What other subs do you do?

I think it's 4 texts, two prescribed two related.

If you want to do well, it's a lot of work and a lot of writing. That's just my take on it.
It differs from adv eng because the questions are a lot more predictable, especially for sci-fi.
